India will be hoping for a medal from Mirabai Chanu on Wednesday (August 7) at the Paris Olympics 2024 with the Tokyo 2020 silver medallist set to compete in the women’s 49kg weightlifting event. Avinash Sable will also take part in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase final, hoping for a historic medal.
The Indian women’s table tennis team will take on Germany in the quarter-finals, while world championship medallist Antim Panfhal will start her wrestling campaign in the 53kg event with an eye on a medal.
Vinesh Phogat can also create history if she wins a gold medal in women’s wrestling.
