The inaugural edition of the Kho Kho World Cup will reach its conclusion on Sunday (19 January), with both the men’s and women’s finals taking place at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. India will take on Nepal in the final of both the events. The India men’s team had kickstarted their Kho Kho World Cup campaign against Nepal, and the tournament will conclude with the same matchup.
While the Indian men are unbeaten in the tournament, Nepal’s only loss in the tournament so far has come against India.
Both India and Nepal are unbeaten in the tournament as far as the women’s competition is concerned. Nepal, though, have an extra win to their name as their group had five teams than compared to India’s group of four teams. In the men’s category, India defeated Nepal, Brazil, Peru and Bhutan in the group stage, before thumping Sri Lanka and South Africa in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively.
In the women’s division, India defeated South Korea, Iran and Malaysia in the group stage before beating Bangladesh and South Africa in the quarter-final and semi-final.
