Kabaddi World Cup 2016: From Virender Sehwag to PM Narendra Modi, here's how Twitter hailed India's win

It turned out to be a perfect weekend for kabaddi fans in India as the national team went on to clinch the 2016 World Cup — their third consecutive title win — in style with the hosts beating Iran 38-29 in the grand finale in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Twitter/ Star Sports[/caption] India fought off a tough challenge from Iran to complete a memorable evening. In perhaps the most exciting match of this World Cup, the Indians overturned a first-half deficit with a superb second-half performance. India have thus won all the three Kabaddi World Cups held so far. They have beaten Iran in the finals of all the three editions. The experienced Ajay Thakur played a crucial role in the host nation’s win with his raiding prowess. Iran enjoyed a stronger start and dominated the first half. But the Indians showed superb fighting spirit and aggression to pull off the win. Thakur had started the revival early in the second session by claiming four consecutive raid points. His team-mates also showed excellent raiding and defending technique to edge out their opponents. It was only natural for fans, as well as well-known personalities, to congratulate the team over the landmark win. From famous sportspeople (mainly cricketers), politicians, actors, to the common people, social media was flooded with pride-filled messages. Let us then, take a look at some of them, starting with the Prime Minister and other politicians:
