After 20 overs, KKR 163-7. And that's that. The defending champions are out of the tournament. They have no chance of making the playoffs now. Yusuf was batting superbly on 72 when he was given out for obstructing the field. It was a blow that KKR didn't recover from. Pune won by 7 runs -- just their third win of the tournament.
Gambhir on Yusuf dismissal: A freak dismissal. I am not sure I have seen it before. We might have won it if he had stayed.
Obstructing the field is not allowed???! Ganguly made a career out of impeding a fielding a side no?

After 19.4 overs, KKR 160-7. Rajat Bhatia has been run out and it's all over for KKR -- the defending champions have been knocked out of the tournament. They need 12 off 2 balls.
After 17.5 overs, KKR 148-6. Yusuf given out for obstructing the field! He kicked the ball away from the bowler! The ball went nowhere but Parnell was trying to stop him too. It was strange! But no denying that Yusuf was playing football there!
You have to know the rules of the game Yousuf,my child..don't play football intentionally..you play for KKR not Man You..Yousuf

Surprised that Yusuf Pathan got out. He was playing so well that the ball must have looked like a football, .... oh wait.

After 16.2 overs, KKR 128-5. Tiwary out for a duck. He has perhaps finished the game... for KKR. He found the fielder in the deep. It would have perhaps been a better idea to just take a single. KKR need 43 off 22 balls.
After 15.5 overs, KKR 127-4. Big, big WICKET! Ryan ten Doeschate is run out! He hit it straight to the fielder and set off. He made 42 off 30 balls.
After 15 overs, KKR 122-3. Pathan got his 50 off 32 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Some very sensible cricket by him. ten Doeschate has played his role to perfection. Kolkata Knight Riders require another 49 runs with 7 wickets and 30 balls remaining.
Yusuf Pathan last IPL fifty (73* for RR vs DC at Ahmedabad 26-3-2010): 49 innings & 3 years ago. Also his first fifty for KKR in 42 inngs!

After 14 overs, KKR 114-3. Pathan 49, ten Doeschate 36. These two have taken the match away from PWI. KKR are favourites now.
After 13 overs, KKR 105-3. 66 off 42 balls. Yusuf has 41 off 26 balls and Ryan ten Doeschate is playing his part as well. PWI's bowlers are looking pretty ineffective.
After 11 overs, KKR 86-3. KKR need 86 off 54 balls to win. Yusuf is looking good and he can take his team over the line. PWI need the bowling to get it's act together.
After 9 overs, KKR 66-3. Yusuf managed to negotiate one short ball well but how many more can he take? Can KKR win this game? Can PWI knock them out?
After 8 overs, KKR 54-3. Will this be the day when Yusuf Pathan decides to come to the party? So far, whenever the right-hander comes out to bat, the bowlers start pitching it short and the spinners are taken out of the attack. But PWI haven't learnt their lesson yet.
After 4.4 overs, KKR 29-3. Gambhir also gone. It was too quick and his pull shot was not on the mark. Caught easily.
After 4 overs, KKR 25-2. BOWLED! Kallis is walking back. That was full and fast. Parnell has done the trick again.
After 3 overs, KKR 24-1. PWI have quickly pulled things back a bit. But Gambhir is the big wicket here. He holds the innings together and can accelerate well too.
After 1.4 overs, KKR 17-1. LBW. Parnell got the ball to come in a bit and Bisla couldn't adjust in time.
After 1 over, KKR 10-0. Good start for KKR. If they want to get anywhere close to PWI's total, they need Bisla and Gambhir to fire today.
After 20 overs, PWI 170-4. Pandey was run out off the third ball but Yuvraj Singh made the most of his dismissal by smacking the next ball for six. The left-hander was caught off the last ball though. Still, this is a very decent effort by PWI -- a challenging score. Good steady batting by all the batsmen -- Uthappa got 25, Finch 48, Pandey 66, Yuvraj 30. Everytime, KKR threatened to get back in the game, PWI attacked.
For KKR, Narina and Senanayake were very good but no one else but it. Kallis and Balaji got quite a bit of stick.
50% attendance, pitch that doesn't suit their strengths...KKR must be wondering the benefits of playing their 'home' game in Ranchi!

After 19 overs, PWI 154-2. The completely crazy push still hasn't come and PWI need the last over to do that for them. One 20 run over and PWI will have the momentum.
After 18 overs, PWI 143-2. Pandey got his fifty off 40 balls and then watched Yuvraj Singh hit an awesome six. This is good play by PWI.
After 15 overs, PWI 112-2. Pandeey took to Kallis there -- three consecutive fours starting the third ball of the over.
After 14 overs, PWI 98-2. Wow. Gambhir gets Narine back into the attack and the mystery spinner responds by giving away just one run. He kept Yuvraj Singh silent for four balls.
After 12.5 overs, PWI 97-2. Finch goes for the big shot, across the line and watches his off-stump get knocked out of the ground. Brilliant. The Pune skipper made 48 off 32 balls.
After 12 overs, PWI 94-1. PWI once again have a brilliant platform in place but can they finish this well? In the last few games, they have given away all their big starts.
After 11 overs, PWI 89-1. Finch smashed a six early in the over and Pandey followed it up with another big hot off his own. PWI are up and running now.
After 10 overs, PWI 72-1. And Finch has answered the call -- two sixes off the last two balls of the Kallis over have given PWI a boost.
After 9 overs, PWI 57-1. When Uthappa was dismissed in the 6th over, they were 41-1 but now, just 57. They need to get a move on.
After 8 overs, PWI 50-1. Things are slowed down pretty dramatically for PWI after the fall of Uthappa's wicket. Pandey still hasn't got into his stride and neither has Finch. KKR's bowlers are doing a great job.
After 5.4 overs, PWI 41-1. BOWLED! Uthappa tried to play across the line and dragged the ball back onto his stumps. Three over of sustained pressure did the trick. Senanyake was the bowler. Manish Pandey is in next.
After 5 overs, PWI 39-0. The last ball was hit for four by Finch, otherwise Narine was in command for most of the over. The pitch was supposed to cause some trouble for the batsmen but they seem to be pretty comfortable.
After 4 overs, PWI 34-0. Decent over by Senanayake. It helps pull things back a bit. Narine is into the attack next.
After 3 overs, PWI 30-0. Uthappa has found his range. A stunning pull shot for six to end the over. PWI have made a good start.
After 2 overs, PWI 16-0. Some good-looking shots there by Finch and PWI are up and running. Senanayake was the bowler. This is a must-win game for KKR, PWI are already out of the equation.
After 1 over, PWI 6-0. Steady start for PWI -- one four and not much else.
And the players are walking back onto the ground. Uthappa and Finch are the openers for PWI.
PWI XI: R Uthappa, A Finch, M Pandey, Y Singh, L Wright, A Mathews, R Gomez, W Parnell, B Kumar, A Murtaza, I Pandey.
KKR XI: M Bisla, G Gambhir, J Kallis, R ten Doeschate, Y Pathan, M Tiwary, D Das, R Bhatia, S Senanayake, S Narine, L Balaji.
Toss: Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and will bowl first.
Preview: On a high after back-to-back wins, Kolkata Knight Riders will start favourites against the struggling Pune Warriors India when the two bottom-half teams clash in Ranchi on Wednesday.
Having achieved back-to-back wins, the Gautam Gambhir-led KKR may have to again depend on off-spinner Sunil Narine and experienced all-rounder Jacques Kallis against Pune, a team they beat only last week.
Both played pivotal roles in their win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in KKR’s previous match.
Pune, on the other hand, would strive to sign off their campaign on a winning note to make up a bit for their 12 losses and a bottom finish.
PWI would have to largely depend on Yuvraj Singh, but he would have to adapt well to the pitch which did not encourage big hitting during the KKR-RCB tie
