India vs USA, FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier preview: The India women’s hockey team face a tricky test against the United States of America as they begin their qualifying campaign for this year’s Paris Olympics in Ranchi on Saturday.
The Savita Punia-led Indian team is placed in Pool A alongside USA, New Zealand and Italy. They face New Zealand in their next fixture on Sunday before taking on the Italians in their final group fixture on Tuesday, 16 June.
Eight teams are vying for the three spots in the Ranchi leg of the FIH Olympic qualifiers, with another eight sides fighting for as many spots in the other leg in Valencia, Spain.
