Jamie Carragher extended apology to Mohamed Salah on live television after the former Liverpool captain had called the Egyptian’s recent public outburst “a disgrace”. Salah had said that the Reds were “throwing him under the bus” after repeated exclusions from the starting XI.

However, Carragher apologised after his old club defeated Inter Milan 1-0 at the San Siro in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

‘Mo, I apologise… but’

Carragher, when asked if he would like to apologise for his comments, said he would but also reminded the Egypt forward to improve his off-field behaviour.

“Would you like to apologise to Mo, and just say sorry for any disrespect? It just come from passion, you’re a fan, go on, just say it down the lens,” Carragher was asked during the CBS Sports’ Champions League show.

“Mo, I apologise, I’ve upset you. I love you as the Liverpool player, but you just need to behave yourself off the pitch, “ Carragher replied.

Salah’s public outburst

Liverpool and Salah have problems and the issues came out in open when the legendary forward claimed that the manager Arne Slot was targetting him.

“I could not believe I am sitting on the bench for 90 minutes,” Salah said. “That’s the third time. It’s the first time in my career, I think. Very disappointed, done so much for this club over years, especially last season, It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That’s how I feel it.”

Salah was not even in the squad for Liverpool’s trip to Milan and before that had been benched for three straight games.

“Someone wants me to get all the blame. [The] club promised me a lot in summer. Now I’m on bench so can say they haven’t kept those promises. I used to have a good relationship [with Slot]. Now we don’t have any relationship and I don’t know why. [It] seems like someone does not want me in the club,” he said.
