Manchester United have reportedly started talks to sign 16-year-old striker Kevin Filling from Swedish club AIK Fotboll. According to reports from Germany, the English Premier League side is holding talks for the youngster to bring him to Old Trafford in the next transfer window.
Filling, who has represented Sweden up to the Under-17 level, made his professional debut for AIK against IFK Goteborg in June this year. He scored in a 3-0 victory in his first senior game and is said to have impressed United’s top leadership, who are looking to bring in some young blood.
United face competition from other clubs
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, United are involved in a “concrete negotiations” to secure the teenager. “The 16 y/o talented striker could leave AIK as early as this winter. Price valuation around €3m. Some Bundesliga clubs also consider him interesting,” he wrote on X.

Meanwhile, Filling has also caught the attention of other European clubs. Germany’s Bundesliga are also said to be interested, as per Plettenberg_._ However, other reports suggest that talks between United and AIK over Filling took place during the summer transfer window but have since cooled down.
Manchester United have been actively looking to sign young talent from around the world under manager Ruben Amorim. The club signed Diego Leon, an 18-year-old defender from Paraguay’s Cerro Porteno, earlier this year. The Red Devils also brought in Malian midfielder Sekou Kone last year after he impressed in the 2023 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup.
Additionally, Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco, 17, has reportedly signed a deal to join Old Trafford next summer for around £740,000. United have also recruited top English prospects such as Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven from Arsenal. Filling’s move, if completed, would boost United’s attempt to build a team for the future by investing in young players.
