 "Sunil Chhetri missing as India name probables for Bangladesh football match in November")
Sunil Chhetri’s name was missing as coach Khalid Jamil on Wednesday announced the Indian football team probables for the upcoming FIFA International Match Window in November. India will be playing against Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Dhaka in their AFC Asian Cup 2027 Final Round Qualifiers match on 1 November.
The 23 probables for the Indian football team would join the camp on 6 November in Bengaluru, before travelling to Dhaka on 15 November.

India are already out of the qualifying race after losing 2-1 to Singapore in October. They are last in the four-team Group C in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Final Round Qualifiers with just two points from four matches and no victories.
Hong Kong and Singapore lead the table with eight points each and one of them would qualify for the Asian Cup. Bangladesh are also out of the race, with the same points as India from four games.

The first India vs Bangladesh match in the group ended in a goalless draw in Shillong in March 2025. The was the first official match for 41-year-old Chhetri as he reversed his international retirement.
He was not picked for the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 by Jamil after being appointed the new head coach, replacing Manolo Marquez. But the Bengaluru FC player has been dropped again.
Most likely, this is the end of Chhetri’s international career as India would hope to build a team for the future. However, it’s also quite possible that he will be recalled once again to the team.
Mohammed Sanan, who was called up to the U23 squad earlier this week, is also a part of the probables and would be joining the senior team instead.
