French defender Benjamin Mendy has claimed several of his former Manchester City teammates, including the club captain, had attended sex parties hosted by him where they indulged in “casual relations” with women. The former City left-back made the sensational claims while suing the defending Premier League champions for £11 million in unpaid wages.
Mendy added that both he and his teammates had breached COVID-19 restrictions as the parties had taken place at a time when the global pandemic caused by the SARS-COV virus led to lockdowns and other restrictions across the globe.
“Several Manchester City first-team players, including the club captain, were all present at parties that I attended and hosted,” read a statement from Mendy at an employment tribunal, according to The Sun.
“We all drank alcohol. We all had casual relations with women. We all breached Covid-19 restrictions.
Mendy went on to identify Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, John Stones and Raheem Sterling as the players who had attended his sex parties. Sterling and Mahrez have since left the club and currently represent Arsenal and Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli respectively.
“This does not excuse my behaviour, but I feel that it is unfair for Manchester City to single me out in the way that they have
“The difference between me and the other players is that I was the one that was falsely accused of rape and publicly humiliated.”
Mendy too had parted ways with City in 2023 after spending six years with the club that has been managed by former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola since 2016.
He had not represented City for two years at the time of his release in 2023 after being charged with raping and sexually assaulting several women in August 2021. Mendy was found not guilty in the rape case and would resume his football career with French club FC Lorient.
However, he has taken Manchester City to court after the five-time Premier League champions stopped paying his £500,000-a-month salary after his rape charge.
