Aymeric Laporte scored a goal in the 64th minute as Al-Nassr played out a 1-1 draw against Al-Taawoun during their Saudi Premier League clash at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on Friday. Saad Fahad Al Nasser had given Al-Taawoun a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the first half, only for Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr to equalise less than half an hour later.
Ronaldo himself had a rather quiet day, with all four of his attempted shots getting blocked. In the 54th minute, Al-Taawoun had the opportunity to double the lead after Musa Barrow came up with a right-footed shot from outside the box, but that was saved by the Al-Nassr goalkeeper Bento Krepski.
Just 10 minutes later, in the 64th minute, Laporte initiated a header from the centre of the box towards the bottom left corner. His goal was assisted by Angelo Gabriel courtesy a cross into the box.
As a result of the draw, Al-Nassr slipped to fourth place with 29 points from 15 matches. Al-Taawoun, on the other hand, remained in eighth place with 22 points from 15 matches.
