Carlsen, the former world champion, edged past Fabiano Caruana, while Nakamura overcame Vincent Keymer, setting up a mouth-watering title decider between the two. Caruana will play Keymer in the 3rd place playoff.

The winner of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2024 Paris leg will be awarded a cash prize of $200,000.
The Paris leg is the second event of the inaugural Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, which got underway in February at the Weissenhaus Private Nature Luxury Resort.
German Grandmaster Vincent Keymer punched above his weight to win the event, beating Carlsen in the semi-finals before defeating Caruana in the final to move to the top of the Tour standings.
