India were assured of another medal at Paralympics 2024 in Paris on Sunday as Manisha Ramadass stormed into the semi-finals of the women’s singles para-badminton event to set up a match against compatriot Thulasimathi Murugesan. Manisha on Sunday defeated Japan’s Mamiko Toyoda 2-0 21-13, 21-16 in the women’s singles SU5 quarter-finals to progress to the last four match.
Murugesan Thulasimathi qualified for the semi-finals on Saturday after beating Beatriz Monteiro of Portugal 21-12, 21-8 and topping Group A.

Whoever wins the match between Ramadass and Murugesan, India are already assured of at least a silver.
In the second semi-final, China’s Xia Qiu Yang will take on either Beatriz Monteiro or Denmark’s Cathrine Rosengren.
The first medal in badminton was secured after Suhas Yathiraj and Sukant Kadam reached the men’s SL4 singles semi-finals for an all-Indian clash after winning both group matches respectively. This match will take place on Sunday.
On Saturday, Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Yathiraj thumped South Korea’s Shin Kyung-hwan 26-24, 21-14 and Kadam defeated Thailand’s Siripong Teamarrom 21-12, 21-12.
