Asian Games 2023: India win gold in compound mixed team archery to achieve best-ever medal haul

Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale inspired India to a record-breaking gold medal on Wednesday as the duo combined for a 159-158 win over South Korea in the mixed team compound archery final. Asian Games 2023:  Day 11 LIVE updates The bronze in the event was won by Chinese Taipei who defeated Kazakhstan 157-154 in the match for third place. With the archery gold India have recorded their best-ever medal haul at the Asian Games as the tally expanded to 71. Their previous best medal haul of 70 had come in the 2018 Games. Earlier in the day, Ram Baboo and Manju Rani helped India equal their best-ever medal haul of 70 with a bronze in the 35km race walk mixed team event. Ram Baboo and Manju Rani registered a combined timing of 5:51:14 to win the bronze medal. So far India have won 71 medals including 16 gold, 26 silver and 29 bronze. In the 2018 Games, which took place in Jakarta and Palembang, India won 70 medals including 16 gold, 23 silver and 31 bronze.
