Bhopal: The counting of votes for the Mungaoli and Kolaras Assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh is being held on Wednesday, an Election Commission official said.
The counting of votes began at 8 am, the official said.
At both the seats, there is direct fight between the Congress and the BJP.
Security has been stepped up at the two counting centres, the official said.
On 24 February, Mungaoli and Kolaras recorded a voters’ turnover of 77.05 and 70.4 percent respectively.
Thirteen candidates including the Congress’ Brijendra Singh Yadav, BJP’s Bai Sahib are in the fray in Mungaoli while 22 candidates including Congress’ Mahendra Singh Yadav and BJP’s Devendra Jain are contesting in Kolaras.
