Gen-Z’s linguistic prowess goes beyond altering the meanings of existing words. Expressions like “this math isn’t mathing” blur the lines between nouns and verbs, showcasing the generation’s creativity in language innovation. A survey by Barclays reveals that three-quarters of workers believe Gen-Z is influencing workplace language, with traditional expressions like “yours truly” and “to whom it may concern” facing extinction. The survey predicts that commonly used workplace phrases might disappear within a decade, replaced by Gen-Z jargon.
