Even as the Karnataka government considered whether it should appeal against the Karnataka High Court’s judgement acquitting former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and three others in a disproportionate assets case, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that he was appealing in the apex court against the acquittal. In my Appeal to SC In JJ DA case. I will prove that the KHC judgment is a "tragedy of arithmetic errors". JJ will have to resign again if CM

Swamy was the original complainant in the case as well. Swamy’s appeal against the high court verdict comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly reached out to the former Tamil Nadu chief minister and extended his greetings on her acquittal. “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Puratchi Thalaivi Amma (Revolutionary Leader-Amma) and extended his greetings,” an AIADMK release said. The Karnataka High Court on Monday had acquitted Jayalalithaa in the case paving the way for her to return as chief minister of Tamil Nadu again.
