WBCHSE Class 12th result 2018 declared: 83.75% clear West Bengal HS exam; check your score on wbresults.nic.in

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the West Bengal HS results today on wbresults.nic.in or wbbse.org with 83.75 students clearing the Class 12th examination. AFP[/caption] Toppers of WBCHSE HS Exam 2018 Granthan Sen Gupta topped the WB HS Exam this year with 99.2 percent, whereas Rittik Kumar Sahu secured the second rank with 98.6 percent marks, Times Now reported. The third position went to two students — Timir Baron Das and Saswata Roy —  who scored 98 percent. Passing percentage The overall pass percentage in the 2018 exam is 83.75 percent, with 6,63,516 clearing the exams. A total of 5,248 candidates received O grade (90 - 100 percent) while 41,428 candidates got A+ grade (80-100 percent). Out of the 8.25 lakh students who had enrolled, 8.09 lakh appeared for the exam, of which, around 6.63 lakh students passed the exam, a report in  The Indian Express said. Girls outshined boys once again in 18 districts, reports said with 53 percent girls clearing the exam as compared to 47 percent boys. Arkadipta Ghosh from Jadavpur Vidyapith scored 97.2 percent, who topped in overall girl’s category, ranked fifth overall along with Aritro Roy from Pathfinder Public School, an The Indian Express report states. According to reports students in East Midnapore and Kalimpong districts scored above 90 percent marks, and around 2,50,961 secured first division marks, however, the current batch fell short of outdoing the 2017 batch in terms of pass percentage according to reports from  NDTV, statistics from WBCHSE council show that 84.20 percent of the students had qualified the higher secondary examination in 2017 as against the passing percentage of 83.75 percent in 2018. In order to boost the scores of the students, the WBCHSE introduced a new pattern of evaluation in 2015. The question paper had about 40 percent one mark questions, including multiple choice questions and the rest, were scored between two and five mark questions. Subjects with no practical exam were given a project for 20 marks. But, the most progress was seen in the year 2017, with 84.20 percent of the students fairing well in the higher secondary examinations. The West Bengal Board conducted the Higher Secondary (HSC +2) examinations from 27 March to 11 April. Where to collect your mark sheet The board had earlier advised schools to collect mark sheets and other relevant documents today from their respective distribution camps from 10.30 am onwards and distribute them to students on the same day. Students are advised to check with their schools for time and date for distribution of mark sheets.
