Amid reports of human-wildlife conflict from Corbett National Park, a video of a man’s close encounter with a tiger outside the reserve is being widely shared on social media.
In a post shared by Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan on X, a man is seen walking casually down a lonely road only to be intercepted by a tiger. As he comes in close contact, the tiger quickly sprints across the road leading to a swift reaction from the man who turns around unharmed. “Is he the luckiest man alive. Tiger seems least bothered. From Corbett,” captioned Kaswan along with the clip. Several social media users responded to the clip with both clever quips and concerns about how human settlements are hindering wildlife and conservation efforts. The Jim Corbett National Park, named after the remarkable hunter-naturalist, is the country’s oldest national park and is known for its high tiger population. With inputs from agencies
