“Let us inculcate and transform these individuals’ compassion into a global compassion. Let us globalise compassion,” said Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi at his acceptance speech. And two years since Satyarthi shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Malala Yousafzai, his words remain equally powerful.
It is with this in mind that 10 and 11 December will see Satyarthi welcome fellow laureates and world leaders to Delhi for the Laureates and Leaders For Children: Summit 2016 . Organised by the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation , the summit will seek to bring the world’s brightest minds together to help create a child-friendly world.
Over the years, Satyarthi’s Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement) has saved over 84,000 children from exploitation and set them on the path to education and rehabilitation. Firstpost caught up with the Nobel Laureate at his Delhi office to learn about the summit and much more.
