A 19-year-old collage student was allegedly kidnapped by two bike-borne men minutes from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior after she disembarked from a bus around 8:50 am on Monday. The woman, identified as Prachi Vyas, a resident of Bhind, was travelling to Gwalior to attend her uncle’s house warming ceremony. She got off near a petrol pump in the Jhansi Road area of Gwalior and was kidnapped while she was waiting for her brother. A video of the crime caught on CCTV camera showed one of the men snatching the girl and forcing her to sit on the back of the motorcycle before speeding away. The person who was already on the bike was wearing a helmet, while the other one, who dragged the girl to the two-wheeler, had his face covered with a cloth.

Police said, after getting off the bus, the BA student was confronted by the abductors. Efforts are on to hunt for the woman and trace her kidnappers. A report by ToI mentioned police saying that the woman was acquainted with a young man named Rohit Kishwaha who also hailed from Bara village. Rohit had an altercation earlier at Prachi’s residence, raising suspicions about his possible involvement in the kidnapping. As per the report, police have intensified investigation into Rohit’s role in Prachi’s kidnapping after witnesses recognised him in photographs, indicating his presence before the arrival of the bus.
