Thirteen Russian nationals were killed today as the bus ferrying them to Gangotri fell off the road and plunged into Bhagirathi river in Uttarkashi district.

Uttarkashi: Thirteen Russian nationals were killed today as the bus ferrying them to Gangotri fell off the road and plunged into Bhagirathi river in Uttarkashi district.

The mishap occurred at Dharali, about 2 km away from Harshil, when the bus with at least 13 Russians on board, was on its way from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, police said.

Senior officials have rushed to the spot. The accident occurred on Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway at about 2 pm.

Bhagirathi is one of the tributaries of the Ganga.
