Muzaffarnagar: Tension prevailed on Tuesday in Akberpur Suneti village in Shamli district after a 50-year-old kin of gangrape victim was gunned down at his residence, even as police and PAC personnel were deployed in large numbers. AFP[/caption] Brahm Singh was killed on Monday after some persons broke into his house at the village in Shamli district and opened fire after he refused to withdraw the gangrape-murder case of his sister-in-law, SP Ajaypal Sharma said. The woman was allegedly gangraped and murdered on 4 July. Her body was found in the jungle. Police has registered a case against the accused identified as Saber, Mustafa, Mobin, Meshar, Amjad, Sufiyan and Pervez, Sharma said. Security has been tightened in the village after the incident and extra police and PAC officials have deployed to keep vigil and thwart any untoward incident, the SP said.
