In Aligarh, the police have discovered the body of a 6-year-old girl, believed to have been murdered by her neighbour. The incident allegedly occurred because the young girl bought a bag of crisps. The girl’s lifeless body, concealed in a sack for disposal later, was found at the neighbour’s house during the late hours of Tuesday. The suspect has been apprehended, and his two siblings have been taken into custody for questioning. The deceased child’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The chain of events began on Tuesday morning when the little girl went missing from her neighbourhood in Aligarh. Concerned about her disappearance, her family reported her as missing later in the evening at the Nagar Kotwali police station. An investigation was swiftly launched with the aid of CCTV camera footage. This inquiry led the authorities to the residence of a neighbour, where the tragic discovery was made. Mrigank Shekhar Pathak, the Superintendent of Police for the city, shared, “During the course of the investigation, one of the suspects admitted to the crime. He claimed that he had sent the girl to purchase paan masala for Rs 20, but she returned with a packet of chips. When he reprimanded her, she allegedly behaved rudely, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the murder. We are now awaiting the results of the autopsy report to determine the appropriate course of action.”
