Police had faced flak over the suicide issue, as the victim’s parents alleged inaction and demand of bribe. The DMK chief also referred to Madras High Court’s directive to Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday over the issue and several queries it had raised on security aspects. Karunanidhi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families of both women.
