Tight security arrangements were put in place as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in Jammu on a two-day visit to the city, where he is scheduled to address the Indian Science Congress at Jammu University tomorrow. [caption id=“attachment_1370771” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  PTI[/caption] The Prime Minister was received at the Airport by Governor NN Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, members of the Council of Ministers, Parliament Member and President JK Predesh Congress Committee Saifuddin Soz, an official spokesman said today. He went straight to Raj Bhawan. The PM will inaugurate the 101st Annual Indian Science Congress on 3 February, in which 8,000 delegates besides Vice-President Hamid Ansari, former President APJ Abdul Kalam, Nobel laureates Y Lee and Ferid Murad are expected to take part. The University of Jammu is hosting the Indian Science Congress of the Indian Science Congress Association (a professional body of Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India) from 3-7 February.
