Kolkata: Three faculty members of the prestigious Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata have been suspended over complaints of sexual harassment by some students. The institute’s registrar Anindya Acharya said they had recently received complaints from some girl students against the three faculty members. “Three faculty members have been suspended. Our internal complaints committee is looking into the matter after which further action would be taken as per the rules,” he said. [caption id=“attachment_2544688” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  SRFTII[/caption] The official refused to share further details, saying it was a quasi-judicial process and he would not be able to comment as the investigation was ongoing into the matter. SRFTI is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for imparting post-graduate programmes in cinematic studies. It has been accorded the status of an institute of national importance along with the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. PTI
