Raipur: An assistant commandant of CRPF and two other personnel were today injured in a landmine blast in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, police said. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 168th battalion’s assistant commandant Madhukumar and inspectors TA Khan and Manoj Kumar D were injured when they tried to defuse a landmine which exploded on Avapalli road under Basaguda police station limits in Bijapur, a senior police official told PTI over phone.[caption id=“attachment_1713739” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Maoist menace. AFP [/caption] When a CRPF patrolling team reached Avapalli road, they got information about a landmine having been laid there underground, he said. The bomb disposal squad of CRPF immediately started efforts to take the landmine out, but in the process it exploded and three personnel at the site sustained injuries, he said. Additional police force was rushed to the site and the injured personnel were retrieved from there. They were flown in a helicopter to Raipur, where they were admitted in a hospital for treatment, the official said. PTI
