The Road to Viksit Bharat 2047: Powered by progress, driven by purpose

Bharat’s journey toward Viksit Bharat 2047 is powered by bold ambition, strategic reforms, and remarkable advancements across every major sector. From becoming the world’s third-largest start up ecosystem with over 100 unicorns and a projected 12–15% annual growth rate, to driving global innovation in space, defence, digital infrastructure, and AI—Bharat is rising.

Today, Bharat stands as a global benchmark in digital public infrastructure, with initiatives like UPI and Aadhaar revolutionising citizen access and financial inclusion. In the energy and climate space, the nation has committed to producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, backed by 125 GW of renewable energy capacity. Defence manufacturing has seen a major boost with the first private military aircraft plant in Gujarat, and India recently became the fourth nation to achieve a successful space docking mission, cementing its position in the $400 billion global space economy.

Meanwhile, transformative projects like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, PM Gati Shakti, and large-scale investments in solar energy and green hydrogen are redefining how Bharat moves, builds, and powers itself. Digital innovations like ONDC are setting new global benchmarks, positioning Bharat not just as a participant—but a leader in digital transformation.

This momentum is mirrored in how Indian businesses are scaling globally, how AI-led innovation is reshaping industries, and how Bharat’s youth, 65% of the population under 35, are stepping into roles of leadership, entrepreneurship, and societal impact. From building indigenous technologies to shaping sustainability and policy dialogues, their contributions are not just aspirational, they are actionable. As Bharat marches toward 2047, the vision of Viksit Bharat will be realised through the collective energy of a nation that is rising, innovating, and reimagining its place in the world.
