Telangana: Hyderabad HC revokes suspension of 11 lower court judges

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday revoked the suspension of 11 lower court judges. These judges had been suspended on disciplinary grounds following the Telangana Judges Association’s agitation against the provisional allocation of judicial officers. News 18[/caption] A senior judicial officer confirmed the development and added that these judges resumed the duty on Thursday. Around 200 judicial officers working in various capacities in courts across Telangana had gone on a mass leave on 28 June during TJA’s agitation against appointment of the judges from Andhra Pradesh to the Telangana courts. Two days earlier, on 26 June, over 100 judges, under TJA’s banner, took out a procession and submitted a representation to the Governor protesting appointment of those hailing from Andhra Pradesh to the subordinate courts in Telangana. The Hyderabad High Court, which is common to both the states post-bifurcation, then suspended 11 judges for taking part in the agitation. The agitation was later called off after the judicial officers got an assurance from the Chief Justice of HC that their grievances would be looked into.
