According to a report in T__he Hindu
, Ankit went to meet his wife, Amisha, at her office in Noida’s Sector 135 where she works as a software engineer with Accenture. He was being accompanied by a friend as he returned. On his way back, he realised that he was being followed and reportedly sent a message to his friends with the number of the car following him and also called his uncle for help. The Times of India quoted
a senior police official as saying that the occupants of the car fired at Chauhan causing him to lose control and crash into a tree. One of them then got out of the car and shot at him and then the duo fled. The software engineer’s friend who was with him in the car was unhurt. Chauhan was taken to a hospital by another commuter but was declared dead on arrival. The police has said that they suspect it to be a case of premediated murder due to some personal enmity and are speaking to Chauhan’s family, and his friend who was in the car.
