Tarun Tejpal granted interim bail till 10 am tomorrow

After Tarun Tejpal was detained by the Goa police at the Dabolim airport, the court granted him an interim bail relief till 10 am tomorrow. This came after it was reported that Tejpal landed at the airport and was arrested immediately. CNN-IBN had also reported that the Goa police is clearly acting on the expiration of the 2.30pm deadline by a Goa court. The court rejected all major arguments offered by Mr Tejpal’s lawyers as they appealed for bail, said NDTV. He also cautioned them for naming the woman reporter who was allegedly raped. IBNLive[/caption] Tejpal’s lawyers are busy trying to convince the judge at the Goa session court that he is being targeted politically by the BJP. His lawyer had reportedly said that Tejpal has a lot of enemies, and he feared that there was a political hand in the sexual assault allegations. The line of defence however is clearly not finding favour with the judge. “I am concerned with the crime, not the political remarks that were made after. Did the young girl make the political remarks?” the judge asked Mr Tejpal’s lawyers, according to a report by the NDTV news channel.
