PTI[/caption] In a statement issued in Lucknow, Thakur said he had been discriminated against as the Uttar Pradesh government had reinstated Lucknow DIG D K Chaudhary within 15 days after suspending him on serious charges of unwarrantedly slapping an old man but nothing of that sort had been done in his own case. He has sent an email to DGP Jaweed Ahmed in this regards, where he said that he was suspended in July 2015 merely for having raised his voice against “injustice” and has been kept in suspension till date, while the suspension order has become illegal after not having renewed after 90 days mandatory period. Thakur said that Chaudhary was suspended on 24 February after the video showing the incidence becoming viral and the DGP and CM Akhilesh Yadav took cognizance of it and got an inquiry conducted. “Yet he was immediately reinstated which shows the double standards,” Thakur alleged. He said it has become imperative for him to express his inner pain and anguish and hence he would sit alone at CM residence. PTI
