Four youths suspected to be having links with terror outfit Islamic State (IS) were detained when they arrived from Abu Dhabi early on Tuesday and are being questioned. Sources told PTI that the two of them arrived at Karipur airport and the other two at Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday and were being interrogated by the state intelligence officials. The four had been reportedly deported for their alleged terror links. According to this report in The Hindustan Times, they were released after the National Investigative Agency (NIA), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and state agencies. According to reports, the officials did not find any solid evidence suggesting their links with Islamic State but “they had only shared and commented on Islamic State-related posts on social media.” Investigations will continue, they told DNA. In Malappuram, two persons were questioned two days ago and let off. One of the youths being questioned on Tuesday is the relative of the youth let off earlier, PTI report said. World’s most dreaded terror organisation ISIS or Islamic State controls a large part of Iraq and Syria and has made headlines for some of the most gruesome killings in the last year. Last week, an Indian woman allegedly involved in recruiting people for the dreaded Islamic State terror outfit was deported by UAE and subsequently arrested in Hyderabad. 37-year-old Afsha Jabeen alias ‘Nicky Joseph’ hails from Hyderabad but had been portraying herself as a British national while luring youth for IS through social media, officials said. She was deported along with husband and children. Jabeen was tracked in Abu Dhabi and after initial questioning, she was deported to Hyderabad where sleuths took her into custody at the airport and questioned her. Police then arrested her and registered a case against her. With PTI inputs.
