Sunanda Pushkar murder case: Delhi Police question journalist Nalini Singh

New Delhi: Senior journalist Nalini Singh was questioned in New Delhi in connection with the murder case of Sunanda Pushkar, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife, police said on Friday. Singh was called by the probe team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prem Nath at Sarojini Nagar police station, where she was questioned for over an hour. This was my first meeting with the police.” Police told IANS that Singh was questioned about the Indian Premier League (IPL) angle regarding which Pushkar had wanted to talk to her. On Thursday, the team had questioned another television anchor, Rahul Kanwal, to whom Pushkar had wanted to give an interview on certain undisclosed issue. Both the journalists were questioned soon after Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi told media that they would take the help of those journalists who had talked to Pushkar before her death to corroborate the sequence of events. Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel room here 17 Jannuary, 2014. Police said she was poisoned. A murder case was registered by the police against unknown people 1 January this year. IANS
