The Sub-Divisional Magistrate Alok Sharma conducting the probe into the death of Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife, Sunanda Pushkar, has sought a further probe into the incident. In the report, the SDM has said that the relationship between Pushkar and her husband were indeed strained. Also the report suggests that more investigation is needed to find out if there was any abetment to her death, which could be a suicide, reported CNN-IBN. CNN-IBN reports that the nature of the poisoning, which will define whether it was a suicide or homicide, will only be certain once the viscera report comes in. For now the police will have to further investigate the case and may have to register a case if they suspect foul play. Meanwhile, Pushkar’s post-mortem report was submitted to the magistrate yesterday. In the initial post-mortem conducted on Saturday, the doctors alluded that it was a “case of unnatural, sudden death”. The doctors preserved biological samples to be tested in the laboratory for ascertaining the cause of death. Police investigators, however, said it could be a case of drug overdose or overdose of sleeping pills, but added that things would be clear only after the detailed autopsy report was received.
