Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today expressed grief over the killing of soldiers in a militant attack here, saying such strikes were aimed at restoring the shattered morale of the ultras.

“Just spoke to the Corps Commander 15th Corps to express my condolences for the loss of 4 armymen in the attack today,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.com.

He said militants were resorting to such high-profile attacks to restore their shattered morale and demoralise the security forces.

In an audacious terror strike on the eve of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit, suspected Hizbul Mujahideen militants ambushed an Army convoy on the outskirts of the city, killing 5 jawans and injuring 14.
