Loanwallah forces a patient to take ‘bike-rest’. Delhi: Daunted by the burden of heavy monthly EMIs, especially on his bike loan Aneesh Soni, decided to get treated for bacterial meningitis while on his bike. This would help him save on huge hospitalization bills. A resident of Greater Kailash II, Soni has been dodging admission in a hospital to escape heavy treatment costs. In the past 10 days, he has received five rounds of treatment on his bike which he rides to the nearest hospital in spite of the severe bacterial infection and against doctor’s advice. “I purchased my bike, worth Rs 4 lakhs, five months ago. I have heavy EMIs to pay off or else the loanwallahs may take away my bike. I am literally dying to pay off my bike loan and own my bike, and I will not let even my illness come in the way,” said Soni who runs an event management company. Soni has been suffering from neck stiffness, fever, confusion, hyper-sensitivity to light and noise for a month - symptoms that led to the diagnosis of bacterial meningitis. His story has earned him the name ‘Biker Patient’ among his friends, neighbors, colleagues and fellow patients at the Life Care Hospital which he visits for treatment. However, with Bharti AXA GI’s health insurance policies, individuals can secure their financial needs during hospitalization. From coronary heart disease to bacterial meningitis, there are a total of 20 critical illnesses, the highest in the industry, for which Bharti AXA offers lump sum compensation that can help cover your daily expenses. To create awareness on the importance of health insurance largely among working professionals in the age-group of 30-40 years and above, Bharti AXA launched an integrated campaign around the ‘Working Patient’. Bharti AXA publishes the Patient Times on Facebook – a ‘Working Patient’ journal full of informative content and ‘working patient’ stories. You can watch Bharti AXA’s quirky and hard-hitting ‘Working Patient’ ad campaign on the company’s Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn pages and here. Inclusions and exclusions under this policy can be checked here. The plan offers sum insurance ranging from Rs 2 lakh, Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. For a financial cover for immediate family members, the policy can be issued on a floater basis covering the family members of the insured comprising the insured, spouse and two dependent children (all members should be within the age group of 5 to 55 years). For further clarity, it is recommended to read the FAQs carefully. To understand the scope of cover, kinds of hospitalization expenses, critical illnesses and criteria under which they are covered, and more, read the policy wordings here. ‘For more details on risk factors, terms and conditions please read sales brochure carefully before concluding a sale’ Insurance is a subject matter of solicitation Part number: adv7/ci/pr/14-02-14 Reg.
