The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) disaster management report accessed by Firstpost said that a call was made at around 6.37 am and it was a level 3 fire call, which means that it required a large commitment of fire-fighters and resources. The fire occurred on the 20th and 21st floor duplex residential flat in the A wing of Maker Tower connected with an internal staircase. The fire was confined to household articles, electric wiring, furniture, false ceiling in an area of 3,000 square feet.
