Sodomy case: Raghavji sent to judicial custody till 22 July

Accused of sodomy, former Madhya Pradesh minister Raghavji was remanded to  judicial custody till 22 July by a local court. He was arrested today after he surrendered to the Bhopal police. The Madhya Pradesh police had said it was unable to find him or his family members at either his official bungalow in Bhopal or at his family home in Vidisha. An FIR has been filed against Raghavji for allegedly sodomising his domestic help. The victim alleged that Raghavji forced him to indulge in sexual acts for over three years, after promising him a government job. “Raghavji was arrested in a case which was registered against him day before and sections are 377 IPC and 506 IPC,” a senior police official said in Bhopal. The official said complainant produced the incriminating cd before the police after which they examined it, got a medical examination of the victim done and recorded his statement. The former minister was on Monday expelled from BJP following the allegations. With inputs from PTI
