Six-year-old makes hoax call about explosion in Delhi metro, leaves cops baffled

A six-year-old left security agencies at Delhi’s Kashmere Gate Metro station flummoxed after he made a hoax call about a bomb being allegedly planted at the station, reports Indian Express. Reuters[/caption] The police control room received the call at 7.45 am with the caller warning them about a big explosion. After receiving the call, a team of Delhi Police, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) immediately inspected the station premises and trains, but found nothing. “The caller warned of a big explosion at the Kashmere Gate Metro Station. The metro station and trains were thoroughly checked but nothing suspicious was found,” a police official said. “The mobile number was traced to Kirari locality in west Delhi. Investigators reached there and took the mobile phone’s owner into custody. However, he denied making any hoax call. Later, it was found that his six-year-old son had made the call from his phone,” said the official. The man was later released after he apologised for his son’s act. Metro officials said train operations remained unaffected despite the hoax call. With IANS inputs
