Representational image. AFP[/caption] According to the complaint lodged by victim’s mother, the girl had on Wednesday gone to the shop where the shopkeeper raped her after closing the shutters. A case has been registered against the accused who is absconding, SSP H N Singh said. Investigations are underway and the victim has been sent for medical examination, he added. In another incident, three youths made an attempt to rape a 16-year-old girl when she was on her way to the fields in Shamli district, police said. Sohanvir, Monu and Ravi had abducted the victim when she was carrying lunch to her father in Abdannagar village under Jhinjhana police station on Wednesday, police said. The victim was taken to a sugarcane field where she started crying and shouting and opposed the rape attempt, attracting attention of passersby, they added. The youths then dumped her and escaped from the scene of crime, police said, adding, a case against the three in this connection. PTI
