The Shiv Sena clearly believes increasing the Hindu population is need of the hour. In order to counter the ‘growing influence of other communites’, the Uttar Pradesh unit of Shiv Sena, is reportedly offering Rs 21,000 to each Hindu family with 10 or more children and is also launching an agitation against family planning by Hindus. [caption id=“attachment_497388” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Pic used for representational purposes only.[/caption] Shiv Sena’s state president Anil Singh told The Sunday Express that a programme will be held in end-November to reward these families long with a certificate with the message: “Rashtra hit me Hinduon ki jansankhya badhane ke liye (For increasing population of Hindus in the interest of the nation). Singh alleged only Hindus were going for vasectomies and tubectomies while other communities were avoiding it to increase their population. While SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary slammed Shiv Sena for trying to promote division in society, Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri, Mufti Mukarram said that no community thinks on these lines to increase its population and Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that Shiv Sena always tries to divide the society on basis of religion.
