A suicide note written in Hindi has been recovered from his bag which hints at a relationship between the two breaking down, reported CNN-IBN. The note mentioned that they were constantly fighting. However, other reports said their classmates were unaware the two had had a falling out. A Hindustan Times article notes, a hurt ego may have led Aakash to commit suicide and attempt murder. The police, after preliminary investigations, said that the attacker was an “obsessed lover”. “…She has hurt my ego…but I don’t want to reveal the reasons for which my ego has been hurt…,” wrote Aakash – the 23-year-old student who attacked his classmate Roshini. On the day of attack, they had an argument following which the boy attacked the girl. He, later, consumed poision and also slit his throat. Both the students were taken to different hospitals after the incident. While the boy was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre, the girl has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. “He was brought at 12:08 pm and died at 1:15 pm. The suspected cause of death is poisoning,” an AIIMS doctors had said. Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr BD Athani had said that the girl had received multiple injuries on her scalp and was being examined by a group of neurosurgeons. “She has received multiple injuries on her scalp and radiological investigations are being carried out by neurosurgeons examining her. The patient is being monitored constantly and she is gradually stabilising,” Athani had said. The incident took place inside room number 213 at the School of Languages in the JNU campus around 11:00 am on Wednesday. With inputs from Agencies
