Kolkata: SFI leader Sudipto Gupta’s father will meet the West Bengal governor at 5 pm today to seek justice. Earlier, Leader of Opposition Surjya Kanta Mishra had said, “They want to meet the Governor. They said they have no faith in the state police and want a judicial or CBI probe into the death of Sudipto. I will convey their demand to the Governor,” Mishra told reporters here after meeting Sudipto’s family at their residence. Sudipto’s sister demanded a CBI inquiry into the death of her brother. “We want justice. I still hope that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will look into it. She said it was an accident and a petty matter. My brother was in police custody and was killed by the police. We want a CBI probe. We will go to the Governor,” she told reporters. The Left and the Congress had earlier demanded judicial inquiry into the SFI leader’s death.
