A senior Kerala police official, T.J. Jose, Inspector General of Police of Thrissur range, was reportedly caught cheating in an examination and was sent out of the hall by invigilators.

Kochi: A senior Kerala police official on Monday was sent out of the examination hall after being caught indulging in malpractice while writing the Master of Laws (LLM) examination.

The official was later identified as TJ Jose, Inspector General of Police of Thrissur range.

Jose was allegedly caught copying from photostat copies of notes, according to CNN IBN.

The invigilator who caught Jose while indulging in malpractice was unaware that the person he was taking action against was a senior police official. When invigiletors confronted him, he reportedly walked out of the exam hall.

Confirming the incident to media, VJ Peter, vice principal of the St Paul’s College, Kalamassery, said the incident will be intimated to the Mahatma Gandhi University.

Jose, however, told media that even though the examination was from 10.00 am to 1 pm, he left the examination hall around 11.30 am “I have done nothing wrong and I will return to write the last examination tomorrow,” he said.

Director General of Police KN Balasubramanian said action would be taken against the erring official and Additional Director General of Police Shankar Reddy has been asked to prepare a report after conducting a probe.

Meanwhile, the Mahatma Gandhi University Vice Chancellor has sought a report on the incident, reports CNN IBN.
