In an intelligence-led operation against trans-border drug trafficking networks, Border Security Force and Punjab Police in a joint operation arrested two Pakistani smugglers from along the international border in Ferozepur with 29.26 kg of heroin, said an official on Monday.
“In an intelligence-led operation against trans-border drug trafficking networks, Border Security Force & Punjab Police, in a joint operation have seized 26 packets of Heroin (29.26 Kg) & arrested 2 Pak nationals. 1 Pak national injured in exchange of fire with security forces,” said DGP Punjab Police on X, formerly known as Twitter. “One Pakistani national was injured in exchange of fire with security forces,” it added. Police said that an FIR has been registered at SSOC Fazilka and the investigation is on to establish backward and forward linkages. “@PunjabPoliceInd is totally committed in War Against Drugs to make Punjab drug-free as per directions of CM @BhagwantMann,” said DGP Punjab Police.
