Criticising Pakistan’s decision not to send critically injured Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh back to India on humanitarian grounds, his sister Dalbir Kaur today said her brother is victimised by Islamabad’s internal politics in view of the nearing elections in that country. “Malala can go abroad for treatment but Sarabjit is not allowed to enjoy the same facility. There is no humanity here,” Dalbir told Times Now from Lahore. “Sarabjit is being made a scapegoat because of political compulsions in Pakistan,” she said.[caption id=“attachment_738337” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Sarabjit Singh. PTI[/caption] Dalbir along with her sister-in-law and two nieces are in Lahore after Pakistan granted them visas for 15 days on an urgent basis facilitating their meeting with Sarabjit Singh who is currently admitted at the ICU in Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital. Sarabjit suffered serious head injuries following an attack on him by fellow inmates at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Friday afternoon. Sarabjit’s lawyer Awais Sheikh, who also spoke to the channel, said that there was no logical reason to keep Sarabjit in Pakistan. He also said that Pakistan had failed in its moral duty to protect Sarabjit. “The report on how Sarabjit was attacked should be made public,” Sheikh said. The attorney put forward the theory that the attack on the Indian prisoner was a conspiracy, as it was possible that the people who attacked him may have had links with militant groups outside the prison.
