To ensure no stones are unturned in RG Kar rape and murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reached a court in Kolkata to seek permission to conduct a narco analysis test of prime accused Sanjoy Roy.

This comes a day after the investigating agency collected the dental impression of Roy, who has been arrested for the rape and murder of 31-year-old junior doctor at state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

‘Will help verify Roy’s version’

On Friday, the CBI approached city-based Sealdah court to get permission to conduct the narco analysis test of Roy to “primarily cross-check” if he is telling the truth.

“The narco analysis test will help us to verify his version,” a report by PTI quoted a CBI officer as saying.

The officer further explained that during a narco analysis test, a drug sodium pentothal is injected into the body of the subject which takes him to a hypnotic state, and his imagination is neutralised.

“In most cases, the accused gives the true information,” the officer further said.

For the unversed, Roy had already undergone a polygraph test.

CBI collects Sanjay Roy’s dental impression

On Thursday (September 12), the CBI collected Roy’s dental impression, which could be crucial evidence in the case.

“There were bite marks on the body of the woman and the post-mortem report has mentioned those. Our idea is to match those with the accused’s dental impression,” PTI quoted an official as saying.

Sanjay Roy, a lone arrest in RG Kar rape-murder case

The body of the junior doctor was found lying in the seminar hall of Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital on August 9, where she had gone to rest during her 16-hour-long shift.

The autopsy report of the woman revealed she had 25 internal and external injuries on the body.

As the probe began, cops arrested Roy, a Kolkata Police civic volunteer. So far, he is the only person to have been arrested in the Kolkata rape and murder case.

CCTV footage allegedly showed Roy entering the seminar hall at 4:03 am on August 9.

His Bluetooth headphones were also found at the crime scene.

Roy, in the polygraph test, had claimed the woman was in an unconscious state when he entered the room. He also claimed he was innocent and was being framed.

When Roy was asked why he did not contact the police if he was innocent, he alleged that he panicked.
