Vast disparity between assets of Madhya Pradesh RS nominees

The election affidavits of the Rajya Sabha nominees from Madhya Pradesh show great disparity in assets.

Bhopal: The election affidavits of the Rajya Sabha nominees from Madhya Pradesh have revealed some interesting facts. The assets of the nominees range from a whopping Rs 62 crore to just Rs 6,100. While one owns five cars some don’t own any. Congress nominee Vivek Tankha earns an annual income of Rs 15 crore and his assets together with his wife’s come to around Rs 62 crore. In contrast, Bhartiya Gareeb Party candidate Shashi Stela’s (49) affidavit shows movable property of just Rs 6,100. Image courtesy: Facebook[/caption] BJP nominee for the June 11 Rajya Sabha election, journalist-turned-politician Akbar (65) and his wife own assets worth around Rs 44 crore, but do not own a car. Similarly the party’s state unit strategist Anil Dave (59) also does not own a car and has belongings worth Rs 60.9 lakh. Meanwhile Tankha has five cars, including a Mercedes Benz worth Rs 85 lakh, a Rs 21 lakh Pajero and Honda Accord worth over Rs 29 lakh.   Vinod Gotiya, a BJP leader, who will be contesting independently showed assets worth Rs 89.6 lakh and his annual income as Rs four lakh.
