Ranchi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday appealed to Maoists to shun violence and surrender. "I appeal Maoist leaders to shun violence and surrender. The surrender process will be on fast track case to case basis," said Singh while addressing a public gathering at Dumka district in Ranchi.
"The Maoist menace will end. Maoists are creating obstacle in the development. I appeal Maoist leaders not to lure youth to wrong path and stop giving weapons to children. No Maoist leader's children have taken up arms," Singh added.
Praising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at centre, Singh said that the government had worked for the welfare of the poor through initiatives like Jan Dhan Yojana and Ujjwala scheme.
He appreciated the work done by Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das in last 1,000 days.
"Jharkhand has done an outstanding job in last 1,000 days. The state was once ranked 29th in ease of doing business and now it stands on seventh," said Singh.
